We’re ambi.careers – not your average recruitment agency. We're building a talent marketplace that connects brilliant tech and non-tech professionals with startups and scaleups. But now, it’s time to go beyond. We're launching our US recruitment division – and we’re looking for someone to build it from scratch as our Co-founding Partner (US).
No fluff. No corporate lingo. No outdated playbooks. Just tech-enabled recruiting built by people who get startups.
After years in executive search and building startups from zero, we’re tired of the traditional recruitment BS. We’re creating something that blends technology with real human insight – something that works for the kinds of companies we’d actually want to work for.
This isn’t just another freelance recruiter gig.
We’re looking for a partner, not an employee — someone to open, run, and grow the US branch at ambi. You’ll help define the strategy, build the pipeline, close roles, and shape the future of how ambi serves the tech hiring needs of startups and scaleups.
It’s a success-based revenue share model, where you will own your cut from the new business unit profits (like most good partnerships are in the beginning), but there’s a real opportunity to build something long-term and impactful.
Set up and lead ambi’s US recruitment offering (strategy + operations)
Own the full-cycle recruitment process for tech roles (sourcing, interviewing, client management) at the beggining
Collaborate with the founding team to define go-to-market, pricing, and positioning
Generate revenue through placements by yourself, or via our recruitment teams (you'll earn 20% to 40% of the gross fee per closed position, typically ranging from $600 to $4,000/job)
Work remotely, on your own schedule, with full autonomy and support
You’ve hired tech and non-tech talent for startups — as a recruiter, founder, or hiring manager
You’ve got a commercial mindset: you can and want to talk to clients, close deals, and spot opportunities
You want to build and lead a business unit, not just “do recruitment”
You thrive in autonomy and are okay with freelance, revenue-based compensation – for now, until the unity is big enough to accommodate salaries, grow the team, etc.
You speak fluent Portuguese and English
You’re looking for a long-term project you can grow with, not a short-term gig while you look for another job
You have real time to invest — not just 15 minutes a day
You don’t enjoy talking to clients or candidates
You expect a fixed salary or benefits right away
You think recruiting is just sending LinkedIn messages and waiting
You’re not okay with some uncertainty while building something new
Let’s have a virtual coffee. No pitch deck, just a real chat.
