As a Payroll Innovation Manager at Paynest, you will be responsible to design the future of Payroll.
You will help us build a platform that ensures accuracy and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with Portuguese labor laws and regulations. This role requires deep expertise in Portuguese payroll systems, tax regulations, and employment law to support our clients and internal teams effectively.

As a Payroll Innovation Manager, you will be crucial in helping us build a platform that offers precise payroll services to our clients, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and contributing to the development of efficient payroll processes. Your expertise will directly impact the quality of service we provide to our clients and their employees.

🎯 Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Innovation: Help set the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the next generation of payroll solutions by helping identify gaps in traditional payroll systems and design user-centric solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and employee/ employer satisfaction.
  • Product Development Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to define, build, and implement innovative payroll features and functionalities.
  • Process Optimisation: Reimagine payroll processes to enhance accuracy, reduce administrative burden, and eliminate friction for both employers and employees.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with Portuguese labor laws, tax regulations, and social security requirements. Prepare and submit mandatory declarations and reports to authorities.
  • Client Support: Provide expert guidance to clients on Portuguese payroll matters, labor laws, and compliance requirements. Address queries and resolve payroll-related issues promptly.

👤 Your Profile:

  • Expert Knowledge: Deep understanding of Portuguese payroll processes, labor laws, and tax regulations. Minimum 3 years of experience in Portuguese payroll management.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling complex calculations and compliance requirements.
  • Problem Solver: Ability to analyze and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities in both Portuguese and English, with experience in explaining complex payroll matters to diverse stakeholders.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in payroll software systems, with the ability to adapt to new technological solutions.
